Christchurch and Canterbury

The 185 Empty Chairs is an installation art monument designed to represent the lives lost in the Christchurch earthquake in 2011, and give a place for reflection on how ordinary people died doing ordinary things. It's sad, special and beautiful all at the same time.

Well worth a visit, it's now one of Christchurch's most favourite tourist attractions.
